On December 30, 2025, People’s Daily announced the list for the 2025 People’s Ingenuity Brand Promotion Program. Haifu Technology’s self developed Focused Ultrasound Ablation technology was selected as a 2025 People’s Ingenuity Technology. The recognition sits alongside national achievements such as Huawei’s AI optical transmission network and highlights the strength of Chinese scientific innovation.

The program, hosted by People’s Daily under the theme Craftsmanship Builds Quality, selects outstanding products, technologies, services, and brands across China. The People’s Ingenuity Technology category recognizes achievements aligned with national strategy, technical leadership, industrial application, and measurable economic and social impact.

Focused Ultrasound Ablation is a non invasive treatment approach. The principle mirrors focused energy, where ultrasound waves converge on a lesion inside the body. Mechanical, thermal, and cavitation effects rapidly raise the focal temperature to around 65°C. The lesion undergoes irreversible coagulative necrosis. Treatment requires no incision, no bleeding, and no radiation. A single conformal ablation targets only the lesion while preserving surrounding tissue, organ structure, and function.

Haifu Technology has remained dedicated to focused ultrasound from fundamental research to clinical adoption. In 2002, the HIFU Knife system entered the University of Oxford, marking the first export of a Chinese large scale high end medical device to a developed market. In 2005, the system achieved EU CE certification, becoming the first ultrasound guided extracorporeal focused ultrasound tumor ablation device approved in Europe. In 2020, the first HIFU Knife system was permanently collected by the National Museum of China as a representative example of original Chinese technology translation.

National honors include the National Technology Invention Award, the National Science and Technology Progress Award, and major awards under the Ninth Five Year National Key Technology Program.
