Dec 25th 2013 was a special Christmas Day for Suining central hospital which located in Sichuan, China, because they finished the 1000 cases in their HIFU(High Intensity Focused Ultrasound) center. Dr. Chen Yongjun, the president of the hospital and Dr. He jia, the director of the HIFU center attend the treatment of the 1000 patient. After the treatment, the clapping impress everybody’s exciting.
The Suining central hospital installed the first JC200 Focused Ultrasound Tumor Therapeutic System in Oct 29th , 2010. In the November and December of 2010, they treated 61 cases. This number increased to over 1000 in 2013 which is more than the sum from 2010-2012.
Dr. Hejia, the director of the HIFU center of Suining central hospital said there are 3 factors increased the cases number so rapidly. First, HIFU is a real noninvasive therapy which really minimized the harm to patients as well as to their uterus during the treatment. This improve the patient’s life quality significantly. Secondly, a careful and strict selection of patients which was the guarantee of effectiveness and safety in the treatment. In South Korea, the Gang-Nam St. Peter’s Hospital also have exciting numbers of treated patients. In 2012, they treated 385 patients with Haifu Model JC Focused Ultrasound Tumor Therapeutic System, the number increased to 548 in 2013. Most of the treated patients are uterine fibroids patients.
