Symposium on Focused Ultrasound Clinical Treatment for Breast

On 9 May 2024, the ‘Symposium on Focused Ultrasound Clinical Treatment for Breast’, the series of activities of the Sino-British Scholars' High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound Technology Application Exchange Week, was successfully held in Jiangsu Provincial People's Hospital. Scholars from the University of Oxford, the University of Hong Kong, Chongqing Medical University, and clinical experts from Jiangsu, Sichuan, Guizhou, Guangxi, Shandong, Fujian, etc. got together to discuss the cutting-edge and hot issues of breast diseases, jointly promoting the development of high-intensity focused ultrasound technology and advancing new national productive forces. Professor Xie Hui of Jiangsu Provincial People's Hospital presided over the opening ceremony, joined by Professor Cheng Wenjun, Professor Wang Shui who delivered a welcome speech, and Professor Xing Ruoxi of Chongqing Medical University who hosted the academic and discussion sessions.

In the discussion session, the guests had a warm discussion on the hot issues related to the breast field. Professor Wang Shui concluded that we all agreed that focused ultrasound has a broad application prospect in the treatment of benign and malignant breast tumours and this non-invasive therapy will become a preferred choice for breast-conserving treatment of breast cancer in the future through rigorous clinical research and the development of expert consensus and guideline; we hope that more domestic and foreign experts and scholars will participate in the research of this area, continuously improve clinical protocols, and expand the clinical application of this technology in other breast diseases, benefiting more patients,
